EnterpriseSG pairs up with Google Cloud to drive local AI adoption and spice up innovative breakthroughs
Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) and Google Cloud have unveiled new initiatives to accelerate AI adoption and foster innovation for organizations in Singapore.
These programs are designed to support high-growth startups in developing their own AI products and to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) enhance workforce proficiency and productivity through AI.
Officially announced at the AI First Event with the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr. Gan Kim Yong, it is accompanied by the inaugural cohort of startups from the Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First Singapore.
A total of 4 startups, namely Kookree, Lytehouse, Staple, and UI-licious have received additional support from EnterpriseSG under the Startup SG Tech scheme, which fast-tracks the commercialization of proprietary technology.
Following the success of this cohort, applications are now open for the next round of the accelerator, set to begin in February 2025. Up to 35 startups will be selected for the three-month program, offering access to Google Cloud credits, AI tools, and mentorship.
A vast range of sectors is welcomed with adtech, e-commerce, fintech, HR tech, media, restaurant tech, and climate tech just being the tip of the iceberg.
Both parties also took the chance to co-introduce the Gemini for Google Workspace Program for SMEs where eligible businesses up to 50% off on Gemini for Google Workspace license costs for a 12-month period, helping SMEs leverage AI to improve productivity and streamline workflows.
Gemini for Google Workspace offers capabilities across widely used apps like Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Meet, enabling small businesses to boost creativity, efficiency, and collaboration.
The program also includes training workshops and consultations, equipping SMEs with the tools to deploy AI across their business processes. A pilot conducted in August 2024 saw companies like Big Tiny and Koufu adopt Gemini for Google Workspace, with measurable results in areas such as competitive analysis, customer service, and marketing.
Eligible businesses can sign up for the program between September 2024 and March 2025.
