ASUS announces participation in the 2024 OCP Global Summit with multiple Intel and AMD-based solutions
ASUS has announced they will be joining the 2024 OCP Global Summit at the San Jose Convention Center as an exhibitor.
Go 'Red' with new EPYC and Instinct parts
At here, they will be showcasing some of the latest server-grade hardware and solutions, particularly AMD's new EPYC 9005 processors and Instinct MI325X accelerators and one of the models is the ESC A8A-E12U, a 7U server featuring said computing parts at 2 and 8 respectively.
The MI325X is the highlight here with industry-leading 256GB of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and up to 6TB/s of HBM bandwidth, making it ideal for large AI models and HPC workloads. It also supports direct GPU-to-GPU interconnects and a one-GPU-to-one-NIC topology, with up to eight 400G NICs for superior performance and scalability.
On the other hand, the 4U 8000A-E13P comes with dual EPYC 9005 processors, supporting up to eight double-slot GPU cards (up to 600W) for more vendor flexibility. It is also fully compatible with NVIDIA MGX architecture for rapid deployment in large-scale enterprise AI infrastructures. Featuring an NVIDIA 2-8-5 topology (CPU-GPU-DPU/NIC) and four high-bandwidth PCIe® NICs, it optimizes system performance and east-west traffic.
Last on Team Red's list is the RS520QA-E13, a 2U, four-node high-density server tailored for cloud environments and the electronic design automation (EDA) sector. Each node is powered by an AMD EPYC 9005 processor and includes two Compute Express Link (CXL) memory expansion modules, providing a total expandability of 12 + 8 DIMMs for enhanced memory capacity and speed. With efficient air-cooling supporting up to 400W TDP, the RS520QA-E13 delivers excellent thermal performance, while its all-front-access design simplifies maintenance for added convenience.
Intel Xeon 6 with OCP DC-MHS modular architecture + Gaudi 3 opens up new possibilities
For those favoring Intel, the 2U server RS720-E1 comes with Intel Xeon 6 processors as well as up to 3x dual-slot GPU while the powerful 7U server ESC I8-E11 runs 2x 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with support up to 8x Intel Gaudi 3 accelerators for maximum support towards AI workloads and is armed with modular design that reduces cable usage, speeding up assembly and enhancing thermal efficiency.
Session Info
For those attending the event, ASUS's 15-minute session is slotted for October 16, 1025 - 1035 and they will be talking about Data Center Modular Hardware System (DC-MHS) developed by OCP that offers flexibility, easier maintenance, and scalable solutions for modern data centers.
