ASUS and Ubilink propel Taiwan's AI supercomputing to global recognition

ASUS and Ubilink have announced that the pair have achieved a groundbreaking milestone by developing a cutting-edge supercomputing facility that has secured Taiwan’s position on the global stage.

Ranked 31st on the TOP500 list and 44th on the Green500, this state-of-the-art infrastructure boasts a performance of 45.82 PFLOPS, making it the largest AI-focused data center in Taiwan. This ambitious project, powered by 128 ASUS ESC N8-E11 servers equipped with NVIDIA HGX H100 GPUs totaling 1,024 cards, redefines AI computing efficiency and sustainability.

Developed by Ubilink, a consortium of Foxlink, Ubitus, and Shinfox Energy, with ASUS providing infrastructure solutions, the facility prioritizes renewable energy options for clients, emphasizing eco-friendly computing.

The center is a beacon of advanced AI infrastructure, offering services such as public cloud computing, AI power rentals, and subscription-based access for applications like large language model training, smart manufacturing, and live streaming. ASUS's Infrastructure Deployment Center (AIDC) played a pivotal role in ensuring the precise management of systems and cooling solutions, enabling the project to achieve operational readiness in just three months. The collaboration underscores ASUS’s ability to deliver unmatched performance and reliability, with the facility achieving a Rmax-to-Rpeak efficiency of 66.08% and demonstrating 1.23X higher efficiency compared to similar solutions.

Michael Chen, General Manager of Ubilink, praised the partnership with ASUS, stating, “The strategic partnership with ASUS has transformed our vision into reality, allowing us to build a world-class supercomputing facility that empowers the next wave of AI innovation in Taiwan and beyond. The company’s advanced software solutions and comprehensive services have facilitated extraordinary performance achievements in a remarkable time frame of just three months.”
